Ruto slams Opposition again, says they are disorganised

Deputy President William Ruto has slammed opposition chiefs over their recent utterances regarding the ongoing war on graft.

He further accused them of failing to organise their own camp and instead obsessing on poking holes within the Jubilee administration.

“Mimi nataka niwaambie wanasiasa wa Jubilee, wasidanganywe na watu ambao wameshindwa na kazi yao,” he said on Friday.

Speaking in Isiolo during a funds drive, the DP called on political leaders to leave investigative, prosecutorial and judicial roles to the relevant institutions.

According to him, their role is to keep the government in check and not make inferences that cause divisions.

He further insisted that the opposition chiefs do not have any moral authority to advise the Jubilee administration on how to run government affairs since they had failed in the ‘lesser’ task of organising their own parties.

Politicians allied to Opposition leader Raila Odinga and those allied to Dr Ruto have been engaged in a war of words with some such as Siaya Senator James Orengo even initiating conversations on what the Constitution says about removing a deputy president from office.

In reltaliation, DP Ruto has termed the opposition as conmen who are not in touch with the struggles of Kenyans at the grassroots level.

His allies have further accused the opposition of instigating moves to sabotage Dr. Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

On Friday, Isiolo Governor Mohamed Kuti expressed his support for the deputy president and said he should continue his work with Kenyans at the grassroots level.

“This is the most important handshake and will definitely bear fruits during the next electioneering period,” he said.

The Isiolo governor and Senator Fatuma Dullo assured the DP that the region would rally behind him in the quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa noted that the people of central Kenya would also support the DP and called on Kenyans from the Northern region to follow suit.
