Sabina Chege responds to Chacha claims

Murang’a County Women Representative Sabina Chege has denied knowing 25-year-old Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha, the man behind the MPs extortion scam.

“I have never had any personal contact with Chacha,” said Sabina.

Speaking on Hot 96 Morning Show, the politician strongly condemned cyber bullying further rubbishing all claims put out by the accused saying he was lying with the intention of intimidating her and other leaders.

This comes in the wake of the arrest and arraigning of Chacha who is accused of extortion amid claims that he has in his possession, evidence to prove his engagements with the female MPs.

“What if a video appears?,” queried host Jeff Koinange during the interview.

“If he actually has videos or whatever videos he has, he should actually release them. There is no need of speculation or intimidation,” said a seemingly confident Sabina.

“I am waiting. I have never had any personal contact with Chacha and the only reason came out is because he was using my name during the M-Pesa con scam,” she added.

Sabina accused the media of not reporting facts saying that they easily picked claims of her having been in a relationship with the accused but failed to report on the clarification that was made by DCI Boss George Kinoti refuting those claims.

“I don’t need a Ben 10 and if I need one, I will not look for Chacha. I am happily married and I have children,” said Sabina.

“If you write about Sabina, it might popular, you might be popular too, but what goes round comes around,” she added.

While responding to a picture that has been making rounds on social media of her and Chacha, Sabina sought to clarify that saying the young man in the picture goes by the name Sammy.

Sammy, according to the Woman Rep is a youth leader in Murang’a County  and the picture was taken after she had won the party nominations.

“Why would you want to ruin a young innocent man’s life? He is a church leader who is now being chased and ridiculed when he goes for help,” said Sabina.

Sabina now says that Sammy is running scared because everyone is calling him Chacha adding that when he went to the police to report the matter, he was chased away and mishandled.

Sabina also cast doubt on the fact that the accused is suffering from mental illness terming this deliberate cyber bullying.

The Women Rep sought to clarify the claims put out by the accused saying that she is well and needs no financial assistance as claimed in the con game.

She also urged leaders especially the women to stand up strong and not to be cowed by this kind of bullying.
