Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has finally spoken out following reports that he was involved in an accident on the Eldoret-Kapsabet road on Friday night.

Senator Cherargei on Saturday morning said he was “safe and sound” and urged Kenyans to follow government regulations to “sanitize” and “stay home.”

The vocal Nandi Senator, taking to social networking site Twitter, further wished Kenyans a “Blessed sabbath” adding “God bless you all.”

Cherargei is said to have been driving to his home from Nandi, where he had accompanied Deputy President William Ruto to a private ceremony, a little past 9pm when his vehicle rolled several times near Mulango area.

The Senator sustained minor injuries following the accident and was treated at an Eldoret hospital before reportedly being allowed to proceed home.
