Sakaja blocks NHC from evicting families in Pumwani
More than 160 families living in the National Housing Corporation’s (NHC) houses in Pumwani area in Nairobi can now heave a sigh of relief after Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja blocked their eviction.
The Nairobi Senator on Wednesday responded to their distress calls after NHC officials accompanied by a contingent of Administration Police officers pounced on them seeking to forcibly evict them from their premises.
The Jubilee Party senator warned the officials over evicting and harassing the tenants who have an ongoing case in court even as he reiterated that affordable housing was one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s big four objectives in his second term.
The other three objectives are investing in manufacturing, universal healthcare and food security.
