Sakaja urges youths to vote for young leaders

Nominated MP and TNA Chairman Johnson Sakaja on Saturday urged youths to avoid voting for irresponsible leaders who abscond their obligations to the people once they get into office.

Speaking during a meet-the-people tour in Eastlands where he interacted with women and youths, Sakaja told the youth to avoid tribal leaders who entice voters with money and empty promises, and instead vote for serious young leaders who have the interests of voters at heart.

“Do not vote for people who come splashing money at you only for them to desert you later. Vote for young and visionary people who understand your problems,” said the TNA chairman.

“It is high time young people stopped thinking of politics along tribal and party lines, especially when they vote for the next Nairobi governor,” he added.

Sakaja called on Nairobi residents to focus on developing the county without considering their ethnic roots, denouncing tribalism as pointless since residents face similar challenges regardless of the difference in political affiliations or ethnicity.

Sakaja also used the opportunity to explain his vision for Nairobi to the residents, pointing that he is in a movement that seeks partners to help make Nairobi a better place where all its residents can benefit.

Matatu operators who interacted with Sakaja lauded the governor aspirant for fighting the ban on graffiti, urging him to continue advocating for matters that will help the youth meet their goals and earn a decent living.

The tour took him to several areas in the county including Buruburu, Umoja and Mtindwa.
