A children activists group in Maralal, Samburu County is calling upon the county government to take action against a man who is alleged to have battered and broken the arm of his 11-year-old son.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Grace Nyambura, an activist and owner of Springs of Hope Childrens’ Home in Maralal, said the man, a clinical officer, had been neglecting the boy prompting them to rescue him.

She added that they had obtained a medical report to confirm the injuries inflicted on the child last week on Thursday who was treated at Samburu County Referral Hospital.

According to local residents, the man is known to be an alcoholic.

The Sub-county Police Commander Alex Rotich said his office was aware of the case and that action would soon be taken after investigations were concluded.
