Samburu elders hold ceremony to bless troubled Governor Lenolkulal

A section of elders converged at Samburu County headquarters in Mararal Town to bless their Governor Moses Lenolkulal and the entire county.

This comes after what the elders termed as a string of bad luck that befell Governor Lenolkulal following plans by the anti-corruption commission to prosecute him and other top Samburu County officials over suspected fraud involving Ksh.2 billion.

The traditional prayer ceremony was held in the governor’s office where a section of elders from Tinga area in Samburu Central sub-county had on Thursday protested against a decision by the county government to leave them out in a title deeds issuance program after their group ranch land was subdivided.

“Through prayers, we have come here to solve problems that our governor has been going through, may God bless all the good work he has done for our county so that we may continue,” said one of the elders after the prayer ceremony.

Samburu Woman Representative Maison Leshoomo who also attended the ceremony praised the elders for their decision.

“Our elders usually pray whenever there is a problem and therefore we thank them for traveling up to this place to bless governor and the entire county,” Leshoomo said.
