Sarika Patel Divorces Her Bukusu Darling

The two got married in 2014 against Sarika parents’ wish.

Their marriage sparked a national interest when Sarika, an Indian girl, went against her parents wish and married the Bukusu man.

However, they received goodwill from the people including a job offer from a local sugar company.

Sarika has said that their problem surfaced when she got sick and asked Khamala to take her to Hospital.

“When I fell sick, he did not bother to take me to hospital instead his parents took me to the local hospital. Besides, he has been abusing me physically,” said Sarika in sobs.

She said she regretted her actions and hopes her parents will forgive her and accept her back.

The fourth born, in a family of five has made up her mind never to engage in a relationship again.

Her father Chabbadia Patel has leveled conditions for her to be accepted back into the family.

“My parents do not trust me anymore. They have asked me to stay with a family friend as I make up my mind whether I really want to reunite with them,” she said.

Sarika fears the wrath of the Asian community saying they may not be able to forgive her.

“I wanted to be a role model to other Indians who are in relationships with other Kenyans. But it did not work. I have failed terribly,” she said
