School closed after ‘demons’ attack students

A primary school in Nakuru County has been closed for one week after students complained that they were allegedly being attacked by evil spirits.

Over thirty pupils of Olokirikirai Primary School believed to be possessed reportedly suffered sudden convulsions, hallucinations and reported seeing visions of men chasing them with machetes.

Religious leaders and Christian believers from the neighborhood rushed in to exorcise the demons.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the school’s head teacher, Peter Kisoi, said the bizarre attacks were only reported among female students.

“These incidents started last week and went out of hand today (Tuesday) during a prayer meeting that was organised for parents, teachers and pupils.” Kisoi said.

Masikonte Sameri, a parent at the school, said that the problem has been recurring since four years ago, adding that this time it was bigger than the rest.

According to the administration, the school will re-open next week, with the hope that the matter shall have subsided.
