school dormitory burns down in makueni

Students of AIC Nunguni  Mixed secondary school in  Mukaa, Makueni County, will today spent the night in the cold after a fire razed down their dormitory destroying property worth thousands of shillings.

Local leaders led by Makueni Deputy governor Adelina Mwau and Kilungu ward MCA-Stephen Katumu visited the school and confirmed the incident saying that the school has lost thousands of books, uniforms, beds and other personal property in the fire.

The fire is alleged to have been caused by an electric fault since it started immediately after power came back after a black out due to the heavy rains while the student were in their evening classes.

It took efforts of the school and villagers to put out the raging flames.

Police have started their investigations to establish the root cause of the fire.
