School Dropout Seizes Prison Opportunity For Dream Education

Victor Kiplagat boyhood wish was to join a high school some day. But his parents were too poor to help realize his dream forcing him to drop out of school and eventually eking a living as a hired Boda Boda rider. But when the motorbike was stolen, his employer hauled him in court convinced he had a hand in it. The magistrate agreed with his alleged crime and he was jailed for two years. But the jail turned out to be the best thing that happened to Kiplagat as he was able to it reads like your typical blessing in disguise tale. The story of a teenager who, unable to further his education, dropped out of school and opted to become a BodaBoda rider to fend for his poor family. But his motorcycle was stolen and his employer convinced that he was behind it accused him of theft after which the teenager was jailed.  2 years later and Victor Kiplagat has a story to tell. Evelyn Wambui tells the story of the young man whose life behind bars at Kericho GK Prison helped unlock a brighter future through education.
