School-going children who give birth not allowed back Magufuli

Tanzania President, John Magufuli, has said that girls in the country will not be allowed back to school after giving birth- during his administration.

Magufuli says, that if permitted to resume studies, the girls will encourage others to engage in premarital sex.

The Tanzanian President adds that men responsible for the pregnancies, will be imprisoned for 30 years so they can put the energy into farming.

A report by Human Rights Watch shows that at least 8,000 girls in Tanzania drop out of school every year due to pregnancy.
