School principal who committed suicide laid to rest

Kirigo Secondary School principal, who committed suicide on Sunday, has been laid to rest.

The deceased, Andrew Murimi Ngure, is said to have left a note before committing suicide indicating the committee members that should handle his burial.

The 53-year-old committed suicide after he reportedly found out that his wife was having an affair.

Residents of Ndia were left in shock after finding the body of the principal dandling in his house on Sunday.

According to his friends, Murimi did not show that he was experiencing suicidal thoughts when they were out together the day before he committed suicide.

Confirming the incident, Ndia OCPD Gasper Makau said that the deceased had outlined the tasks that each committee member should carry out before his death.

Speaking to Citizen TV, the committee chair Samuel Kiongo said that preparations had been meticulously done and they were hopeful that everything would go according to plan.

“We are ready for Murimi’s burial. The grave has been dug and everything has been put in place according to his wish.”

Murimi had named individuals that would be a treasurer, secretary and a coordinator in his burial committee.

In addition, the deceased asked the coordinator to ask a pastor from Redeemed Christian Church to coordinate his burial, despite being Catholic.

Murimi also left instructions saying that the committee members should ensure he is buried before the year ends.
