Scotland Rejects Independence

Scotland voted ‘no’ in efforts to break away from the United Kingdom referendum.

Majority of the voters accepted to continue being part of the UK alongside along with England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The "No" side has a lead of 1,877,252 and their opponents have 1,512,688 votes.

More than 4.2 million people registered to vote hence making it the highest record of voters highest recorded in Scotland.

Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond admitted defeat in Scotland's independence referendum and urged the rest of Scotland to do the same.

This means that Scotland with its population of about 5.3 million remain being part of the  United Kingdom.
