Search for missing aircraft from Kitale called off again

The search for the missing aircraft that vanished from the radar while heading from Kitale to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon has been called off again.

Sources have confirmed to Citizen Digital that the search mission has been greatly hampered by the bad weather in the Aberdares region where the light aircraft is suspected to have crashed.

The exercise is set to continue on Thursday morning.

According to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), the Fly SAX plane that had 10 people on board was last seen on radar at 2.02pm Tuesday afternoon.

KCAA Director General Capt. Gilbert Kibe said a multi-agency team was immediately dispatched for a search and rescue operation.

By Tuesday evening, the search mission had yielded no fruit, with the team being forced to halt the exercise for the night and resume on Wednesday morning.
