Search for new DPP kicks off

  • The search for the next Director of Public Prosecution has kicked off with ten candidates seeking to replace Keriako Tobiko who now serves as the Environment Cabinet Secretary.
  • The shortlisted candidates include; Supreme Court Deputy Registrar Daniel ole Keiwua, former IEBC commissioner Thomas Letangule, Patrick Gumo, lawyer Lucy Kambuni, NIS Senior Director Noordin Haji as well as Machakos Chief Magistrate Abdulkadir Ramadhan.
  • Three deputy DPPs also set to be interviewed are Dorcas Oduor, Jacob Ondari and Nicholas Mutuku.

The search for the next Director of Public Prosecution has kicked off with ten candidates seeking to replace Keriako Tobiko who now serves as the Environment Cabinet Secretary.

The shortlisted DPP candidates include; Supreme Court Deputy Registrar Daniel ole Keiwua, former IEBC commissioner Thomas Letangule, Patrick Gumo, lawyer Lucy Kambuni, NIS Senior Director Noordin Haji as well as Machakos Chief Magistrate Abdulkadir Ramadhan.

Three deputy DPPs also set to be interviewed are Dorcas Oduor, Jacob Ondari and Nicholas Mutuku.

The interviews, which will run through to Friday, March 9, will see the selection panel pick three candidates before forwarding the names to the president, who will then select one person.

Mr. Kenyatta’s nominee will then be forwarded to Parliament for vetting.

The panel members are Kennedy Kihara ,Maryann Njau, Lilian Omollo and four others.
