Security guard killed, another left in coma following gang attack in Kimilili

A security guard was brutally murdered and his colleague left in a coma following a robbery incident in Kimilili area of Bungoma County.

A gang of robbers said to be terrorising residents of Kimilili in the recent past raided a business establishment making away with property of unknown value.

Tension remains high as this is the third such incident in the area in weeks.

The gang killed a guard who confronted them, while the second was repeatedly hacked and hit with a blunt object on the head, leaving him in critical condition in hospital.

On Friday night, another shop was also struck by a number of gun-wielding criminals as they were closing.

It baffles residents how the gang has been operating in the area during curfew hours yet they claim to always see police patrolling.

The area police commander said investigations into the murder have been launched adding that a manhunt for the robbers is underway.

The deceased was taken to Dreamland morgue in Kimilili while the critically injured guard remains admitted at the Bungoma Referral Hospital.
