Security heightened ahead of President Barrack Obama’s visit

It is 11 days to the much anticipated U.S. President Barrack Obama’s visit to Kenya and the final preparations are being done all around the capital city with security being the main priority.

At every entry and exit within Nairobi and the surrounding areas, new generation cameras have been mounted.

These particular cameras are high speed cameras that are capable of capturing number plates of a moving vehicle making it easier to follow on anyone suspect.

Unfortunately, some of the cameras have already been vandalized like on Jogoo Road where some of them are already missing.

If you are driving along Mombasa Road leading to the airport don’t be alarmed by the heavy police presence who might stop you for random checks.

So far for security purposes no one knows exactly where the U.S. President will be staying while on his tour in Kenya but sources close to Citizen TV revealed that high profiled visitors are expected to be staying in three top hotels within the city all of which are under heavy security.

At the Intercontinental Hotel, security is on a high notch with officers from the prisons manning the perimeters of the hotel. At the gate every car going in has to go through rigorous search where the officers inspect the vehicle from the bonnet to the trunk.

At the Villa Rosa Kempiski Hotel and The Tribe Hotel, the routine is same only that here the guards are using sniffer dogs to detect anything in the vehicles.

The heightened security is expected to be even higher as Obama’s visit gets closer with both Kenyan and American security officials teaming up to guard the world’s most powerful man.
