Security Heightened In Mombasa

Speaking at the Likoni Joy of Jesus Church in Mombasa where terrorists killed 6 people in a brazen gun attack last week, Ruto said the government would not relent in its quest to restore security in the country and deal with the threat of radicalization.

Deputy President William Ruto who is on a tour of the coast that will see him address the security concerns there first hand, attended a Sunday service at the Consolata catholic church in Likoni before visiting the joy of Jesus church that was raided by gun men last Sunday.

Ruto spoke against the ongoing radicalization of youth in Mombasa which has been blamed for the increasing spate of terror attacks

Security has been heightened in Mombasa with several churches now beefing up security following the Sunday attack.

Ruto was on Saturday night holed up in a security meeting with top security officials in Mombasa.

The meeting conducted at the coast provincial headquarters was also attended by the County Commissioner Nelson Marwa and Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

Ruto is now headed to Kwale County for a security Baraza with elders and locals in the area.
