Semelang’o Barred From Mathare’s By Election

IEBC failed to clear Semelang’o on grounds of failure to produce sufficient proof that he quit public office six months before the mini poll required.

Semelang’o however says that he will be filing an appeal with IEBC’s complaints tribunal to have it reversed.

Semelang’o further blames ODM party for the move claiming that it was its executive director Magerer Langat who wrote to IEBC to bar him.

Another aspirant who was not cleared was Maendeleo party aspirant Chrispinus Fwamba after failing to meet all IEBC requirements.

IEBC has so far cleared ODM’s Stephen Kariuki, TNA’s George Wanjohi and independent candidate Blasto Barack Obat  to run for the Mathare parliamentary seat.

By-election is slated for 7th August.
