Semelango Seeks To Halt Mathare By Election

This is after the Electoral Body IEBC this week barred him from vying in the Mathare mini-poll on grounds he did not resign from public office over 6 months before the poll.

In the appeal case filed on Friday morning through Lawyer George Miyare under a certificate of urgency, Semelang’o wants the mathare by-election suspended until the case is heard and determined.

Justice Mumbi Ngugi on Monday dismissed an application he had filed seeking to compel IEBC to allow him to contest.
