Senate Deputy Speaker ‘evicted’ from Uhuru’s meeting
Chaos erupted at the Blue Post Hotel in Murang’a after Jubilee Party nominees attempted to evict independent candidates from the venue where they are to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Reports indicate that among those thwarted from the venue is area Senator Kembi Gitura, who was trounced by Kiharu Member of Parliament, Irung’u Kang’ata, and will be defending his seat as an independent candidate.
Led by Kang’ata, the nominees insist that independent candidates have no reason to follow Jubilee matters as they are not part of the party.
Apparently, the Senator refused to leave the premise, but CS James Macharia was forced to leave as he is accused of supporting some independent candidates.
Among notable figures in the meeting include Governor Mwangi Wa Iria and Women Representative Sabina Chege.
