Senate Gets A Motion Impeaching Wambora

The Speaker of the Senate Ekwe Ethuro now has three days to convene a committee to investigate Wambora's conduct.

The committee will then present its report to the entire for adoption or rejection.

The ousted Governor Martin Wambora today Wednesday, appeared for a mention of his case that is before the High Court in Kirinyaga.

Wambora lost his petition on Tuesday evening to have the Embu County Assembly blocked from forwarding the motion's outcome to the Senate.

He was impeached by a vote of 23 members against 8 who voted against the motion.

Wambora had obtained a court injunction to stop the County Assembly from debating the motion, but that did not deter the house from going ahead to deliberate the matter.

Lady Justice Cecilia Githua faulted Wambora for failing to serve the assembly with the injunction orders on time and therefore could not grant him his wishes.
