Senate Holds Hearing On Pumwani Twins Saga

During the hearing held at the KICC, the committee listened to the mother of the missing twin girls narrate her side of the story.

According to the mother, the twins were born at the hospital on January 6th 2015 and after giving birth to the first child, the nurses took her away claiming that she had trouble breathing.

She then gave birth to a second baby moments later.

DNA TESTS

The mother, Jacinta Kimathi, claims that she heard the second baby cry before it was taken away.

The hospital management however told Jacinta that she had had a still birth which prompted the parents of the twins; Dedan Kimathi and Jacinta to request for DNA tests on the dead babies.

Consequent DNA tests have now proved that the dead babies did not belong to the couple and that the babies were not related to each other.

WRONG BODIES

The couple further claims that the bodies they were shown at Pumwani Maternity Hospital were different to the ones they viewed at the City mortuary, even though the casket was the same.

The distraught parents stated that they have photo evidence to prove their allegations.

The Senate will hold another sitting during which it will invite a pathologist to comment on the matter.
