The Senate leadership met President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday morning ahead of the crucial debate on the revenue sharing formula.
Majority leader Samuel Poghisio, his deputy Fatuma Dullo, Majority Whip Irungu Kangata and his deputy Farhiya Haji, Minority leader James Orengo, Minority Whip Mutula Kilonzo Jnr and his deputy Beatrice Kwamboka were all in attendance at State House.
However deputy Minority leader Cleophas Malala has been sidelined in the talks.
Speaker Ken Lusaka did not attend the meeting as he was reportedly chairing a session of the powerful House Business Committee to chart ways on how to deal with the debate this afternoon.
The Senate will be trying for the 10th time to reach a consensus on the contentious county revenue sharing formula.
