Senator Mike Sonko escapes death after car accident
Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko escaped death on Friday morning after a truck rammed into his car along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, according to a post on his Facebook account.
It is said that the incident happened when the Senator was fueling his vehicle at Engen Petrol station. A speeding truck, which seemed to be entering the petrol station, reportedly rammed into his vehicle.
The truck mangled the front of his SUV.
A social media user,John Boog, who was at the scene of the accident, posted images of the crash on Facebook.
“Pole to my Boss Mike Mbuvi Sonko who escaped death narrowly earlier today after a truck rammed into his Toyota VX at a fuel station at Athi River. SUV was hit from the front by a the truck as it sped into the petrol station. The senator had stopped to refuel when the incident happened.”
When Citizen Digital reached out to the Senator, there was no response.
In September, on the way to Sonko’s family farm in Mua along Mombasa road, a Mercedes car was involved in an accident with a Range Rover SUV.
The owners of the vehicle came to inspect the damage while the Sonko Rescue Team analyzed if the passengers were hurt.
The drivers of the vehicles allegedly exchanged business cards and left.
Sonko, who lost his father Mzee Gideon Kioko Kivanguli to an illness, has declined to disclose what was ailing his father but thanked the public for the support in prayers.
