Senator Munyes begins gubernatorial seat campaign

Turkana Senator, John Munyes, has officially kicked off his gubernatorial bid in to oust the incumbent, Josephat Nanok.

On Monday, September 26, Munyes held a series of meetings at Kankurdio, Milima Tatu and Kangakipur areas of Turkana North urging thousands of residents to register as voters and elect him on the Jubilee ticket as their next governor.

He said that the incumbent, Nanok, did not deliver on his campaign promises and that Turkana needs a leader who can bring about development and empower the people.

Munyes, who ditched Ford Kenya to join the newly formed Jubilee Party, said that he wants to transform the lives of Turkana people further accusing Nanok of abetting graft and misappropriation of public resources.

He noted that the people of Turkana need better hospitals, schools, roads and other essential services saying that he decided to join Jubilee Party which will lead Kenya into development.

Munyes joins the growing list of Senators who have expressed interest in the governorship post including Kiraitu Murungi (Meru), Bonny Khalwale (Kakamega) and Mike Sonko (Nairobi) among others.
