Senator Musila says county officials to be surcharged for lost cash

Mwingi Senator, David  Musila, has warned Kitui County officials who are misusing county funds that they would be surcharged if he wins the gubernatorial seat in the 2017 General Election.

Speaking during a campaign tour at Kwa Vonza Trading Centre in Kitui Rural Constituency on Tuesday, November 15, Musila  singled out  Kitui Governor, Julius Malombe, who he said has allegedly been misusing public funds allocated to the county.

He also warned him that he will be held accountable for every penny misused by his administration either through omission or commission.

“The county officials should know  that even when the county leadership changes after next year’s election, all their financial sins would follow them in the next administration more so when I win the gubernatorial seat”, he said.

He aded that the Governor should not go scot-free because the funds were meant for Kitui County and not individual leaders.

Musila was accompanied by Minority Leader in the National Assembly, Francis Nyenze, and Kitui Rural Member of Parliament, Charles Nyamai, among others.
