Senators Retreat in Mombasa

Senators are tonight digging in for the control of billions of shillings in natural resources that have recently become the centre of bitter conflicts between counties and the national government.

The mining bill that was recently passed by mps was the centre of attention for senators who are now demanding that it should not be signed into law without consulting them

The bill which defines how resources would be shared out is pending presidential assent at a time when killings in Baringo and Turkana Counties have illustrated the potential of resources to fan conflicts
