Woman wanted for threatening to kill, abduction, robbery with violence

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched a hunt for a woman wanted for various criminal offences among them robbery with violence, personation and threatening to kill.

According to the DCI, the woman identified as Jane Wawira Mugo claims to be a private investigator and CEO of a company identified as Trimo Security Limited.

Wawira is accused that on August 15, this year, while at New Muthaiga Estate, she drew a pistol and threatened to kill a man on allegations that he was spying for a relative of the Director in a Company where she was the private investigator.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the DCI said the suspect had previously been arraigned over the various offences but the cases were withdrawn, with a fresh warrant of arrest now being issued against her.

“Ms. Jane Wawira Mugo, a serial Criminal is wanted by the DCI, for various criminal activities including robbery with violence, personation and threatening to kill. A warrant of arrest to that effect was issued by Milimani Law Courts. To be be arrested wherever she’s found,” said the DCI.

In 2015, the DCI says Wawira was charged with detaining a man for hours after forcing him to pay Ksh.440,000 to her.

Still in the same year, she was also accused of personating a person employed in the public service whereby she stormed the office of the detained man’s lawyer and introduced herself as a police officer, before going ahead to ransack the lawyer’s house and creating disturbance.

During the same period, she is alleged to have abducted a Nairobi businessman and locking him up in her office at Baba Dogo area and forced him to pay a debt of Ksh.400,000.

She was charged with abduction, personation and creating disturbance.

“All cases withdrawn under Section 204 of Penal Code,” says the DCI.

On December 12, 2016, her employees identified as Isaac Ndirangu, Noreen Malala and Michael Gita are alleged to have robbed a man of Ksh.90,000 which he had withdrawn from a bank.

According to the DCI, the suspects introduced themselves as police officers and were carrying a radio phone, handcuffs and a pistol. They were charged with robbery.

The woman has been ordered to surrender to the nearest police station even as a hunt for her continues.
