Seven students arrested over torching of dormitory at Katangi High School in Machakos

Police have arrested seven boys in connection with the setting ablaze of a dormitory at Katangi High School in Yatta, Machakos County.

Yatta DCIO Bernard Rono confirmed the arrest of the students, six of whom are in Form 3 while one is in Form 2.

The dormitory was set on fire on February 11, 2021 with property estimated to be worth Ksh.3.5 million being destroyed.

The seven students were detained at Matuu Police Station pending arraignment.
