Several lanes on Thika Superhighway temporarily closed

Several lanes on Thika Superhighway have been temporarily closed for maintenance works.

A statement from the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said the affected sections are between Nairobi – Ruiru and Ruiru – Thika.

“These works may result in temporary closure of some lanes during the day,” the statement reads.

Motorists have been urged to exercise caution around the work areas, follow the traffic management plan and directions given by the traffic marshals.

Last week, motorists on the Thika Superhighway were stuck in traffic for over 2 hours.

KeNHA had announced that a section of the Thika Superhighway would be closed for 5 days starting August 21.

The closure at the Garden City Mall that was in effect until August 25 was to allow for the erection of a footbridge.
