Several People Feared Dead In Thika Road Blast

The explosions occurred in different buses.

One bus was heading to Mwiki while the other was heading to Githurai 45.

This attack comes as a security meeting was held today, Sunday, at the Mombasa County Police Head-Quarters.

The meeting was prompted following Saturday’s grenade attacks in Mombasa, where 3 people died, and 22 others injured, in two explosions.

The first blast occurred near reef hotel in Nyali, but no casualties were reported.

The second attack took place at a bus station at Mwembe Tayari area, where three people died.

Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho condemned the attack, and urged the government to put in place stringent measures in order to deal with terrorism in the country.
