Sh1 Billion Heroin Ship To Be Destroyed

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to oversee the destruction of 380 kilograms of heroin impounded in Mombasa last month. 

Speaking in Mombasa, President Uhuru Kenyatta declared intensified war against drugs, warning that the government will destroy any illegal drugs seized and vessels ferrying them starting with the MV Noor, which had the one billion shilling consignment of heroin.

The President’s directive came a day after a Mombasa court ordered the state to destroy the heroin that had been seized and further issued a one month notice to the owners of the ship to claim their asset failure to which it will be auctioned.
