An Oyugis court has allowed police to continue detaining a taxi driver arrested in connection with the murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno for ten more days.

On Tuesday, Jackson Otieno Sombe appeared before the Senior Resident Magistrate Joy Wesonga for the first time since his arrest and detention at Migori Police Station.

The Magistrate ordered police to continue holding the suspect to allow detectives continue with investigations over the murder of Sharon.

She had been reported missing after apparently being abducted in Migori alongside Nation journalist Barrack Oduor.
