Shilling stabilizes against dollar

The Kenyan shilling has extended its gains against the U.S. dollar helped by tight local liquidity conditions.

According to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), the shilling is now trading at an indicative rate of 101.23 buying, 101.41 selling to the dollar.

Against the Euro, the Kenyan currency is exchanging at 110.82 buying, 111.04 selling while trading at 157.82 buying, 158.15 selling to the Sterling Pound.

On the regional currency front, the home unit is trading at 6.74 buying, 6.87 selling to the Rwandese Franc, 20.90 buying, 21.04 selling to the Tanzanian shilling and at 33.91 buying, 34.07 selling to the Ugandan shilling.
