Shilling weakens against dollar

The Kenyan shilling has slightly weakened against the U.S dollar.

This was as a result of Central Bank of Kenya selling an unspecified amount of Dollars to support the shilling as end month demand for dollars picks up.

The shilling is now exchanging at 101.95 buying, 102.13 selling to the Dollar.

The home currency is trading at 112.92 buying, 113.17 selling to the Euro and at 158.80 buying, 159.16 selling to the Sterling Pound.

Regionally, the Kenyan shilling is exchanging at 7.06 buying, 7.15 selling to the Rwandese Franc, 20.36 buying, 20.49 selling to the Tanzanian shilling and at 32.94 buying, 33.10 selling to the Ugandan shilling.
