Shock as father found burying son alive

Residents of Kona Mbaya Village in Likuyani Sub-county, Kakamega County were on Saturday shocked after a father was found trying to bury his son alive for allegedly spoiling his mobile phone.

Confirming the incident, area Chief Joseph Shikuku said concerned neighbors rushed to tell him of the incident, and when he arrived at the scene, the father told him that he was disciplining his son after spoiling his phone.

“At around 6PM I was called by neighbors and when I arrived at the scene, the father told me that he was just trying to discipline his son,” said the Chief.

The victim narrated to Citizen Digital that his father tricked him into digging a pit for the purpose of planting a banana plant. But later forcefully grabbed him and started burying him.

“He says that I spoilt his phone but I didn’t do that, our neighbor was my savior as he came and tried to prevent my father and also alerted people,” narrated the victim.

The father is currently being held at Matunda Police Station awaiting investigations into the case.
