Shollei denies abuse of office charges, released on bond

Former Judicial Service Commission Chief Registrar, Gladys Boss Shollei, has been released on bond after she denied abuse of office charges in the procurement of a Sh300 million house for Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga.

Shollei appeared before Nairobi Milimani Court Senior Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo one week after six other former judiciary staff denied the same charges.

Shollei was, however, released on a Sh1.5 million bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh600,000.

The case will be mentioned on September 7, 2015 when the hearing date will be set.

The former judiciary boss was out of the country when her colleagues pleaded to the same charges.

The entire judiciary tender committee was also accused of flouting procurement regulations in the purchase of the property.
