Showdown Expected In Senate Over Security Laws

Senators from across the political divide have differed over the move to recall Senate to discuss the controversial laws.

Jubilee senators have promised fire works in today’s sitting in a bid to stop CORD from pushing through their agenda.

Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki says they will face-off their CORD colleagues who want the new security laws suspended.

Kindiki further said that the new Security Laws were passed within the law by the National Assembly.

Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula petitioned Speaker Ekwe Ethuro to recall the house.

Wetangula wants the Senate to outlaw the new security laws arguing it was not involved yet they pertain counties.

CORD leaders have continually opposed the new Security Law that was ascended to by President Uhuru Kenyatta, terming it retrogressive.

The new laws were developed by the government to curb rising insecurity in the country.
