Siaya bursary beneficiaries to wait longer

Prospective beneficiaries of Siaya County government’s bursary scheme will have to wait much longer for the monies to allow the county’s department of finance complete all pertinent procedures.

Speaking to Citizen Digital over the phone, Pamela Akelo, the County Executive Committee Member for Education, said the County Government had already received funds from Central Bank but has to finalize a few modalities before disbursing the money to schools.

Akelo said that her office had already identified the potential beneficiaries and has been waiting for the treasury to finalize their part so that the funds can be channelled to schools.

She promised to release the money to schools in not more than two weeks and has called on the beneficiaries to remain patient as her team works on the same.
