Siaya County mourns death of MCA

Siaya County Assembly member for West Uyoma ward in Rarieda Constituency Mr Mathews Odeny Onduru has died.

Speaking to the media with the consent of family, Siaya County Assembly Speaker Mr George Okode said the MCA passed on while at Nairobi Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for a heart problem.

Okode further added that Mr Onduru, who up to the time of his demise was the County Assembly’s Health Committee Chairman, had been admitted at Bama hospital in Siaya Town and later referred to the Nairobi Hospital where he succumbed to his illness after two weeks at the health facility.

The speaker described Mr Onduru as a strong and active member, who effectively championed for the interests of his people at the county assembly, adding that the county has lost a great man who did his work with dedication.

He condoled with the bereaved family, relatives and friends of the late Mr Onduru and at the same time called for patience.

Others who have also sent their messages of condolence to the bereaved family include his colleague MCAs Peter Lolwe Ombee (South Gem), Walter Okelo (Youth Representative) and Margaret Adhiambo Okech (Representative for persons with disability) among others.
