Siaya County Sets Aside Funds For Health Workers

Onyango says he wants to do this by setting aside a lion share for the health docket in the next financial year.

Onyango admitted experiencing lack of enough health staff in the County despite chronic diseases like HIV/AIDS being prevalent in the county.

Speaking in Ukwala ,Ugenya constituency during the launch of Mary Ann Van Dam nursing college,  Onyango  said  that Ksh10m  had been set aside to facelift health facilities in the County.

This is to ensure smooth running of hospitals in a bid to boost service delivery

Addressing locals at the same launch, the area MP David Ochieng called on the locals of Siaya County to take advantage of the nursing facility by enrolling their children into nursing school.

He said this will help in increasing the region’s human resource on the health sector..

The MP called on the national government to allocate more funds to devolve functions of health fully.
