Father kills man after finding him with his ‘missing’ teen daughter

A 43-year-old man is being held at Mageta Police Station after he was arrested for allegedly killing a 24-year-old man he found with his primary school daughter.

John Odhiambo Juma was arrested after he allegedly beat Benson Onyango to death when he found him with his 16-year-old daughter at Sika beach in Bondo sub-county, Siaya County.

Confirming the incident, Mageta location chief Ambrose Ogema said the suspect received information that the girl, who had been missing for a day, was in Onyango’s house.

On visiting, Mr. Juma indeed found the two together and started beating the deceased in an attempt to discipline him. The man, however, fell to the ground unconscious during the beating and died.

The suspect then attempted to flee but was arrested by irate members of the public who handed him over to the police.

The deceased’s body was transferred to Bondo sub-county Hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem as investigations commence.
