Siaya: Man hacks uncle to death over land tussle
Police in Siaya have launched investigations into the death of a 50-year-old man who was hacked by his nephew over a suspected land tussle at Got-Rawalo village in Gem Sub-county.
According to a neighbor, the nephew identified as Ford allegedly pruned some trees in his uncle’s compound sparking an argument between them that prompted arbitration from the area village elder.
The village elder had just finished the process of solving the dispute and as he was being escorted by the deceased, the suspect emerged from a maize plantation and began hacking the uncle before escaping.
Area Assistant Chief David Otieno Wasao confirmed the incident saying the deceased succumbed to the injuries at the crime scene.
The body was moved to the mortuary as further investigations continue.
Meanwhile, a search continues for the suspect who is still at large.
