Siaya ODM officials sleeping on their jobs – Deputy Governor
Siaya Deputy Governor Wilson Ouma Onyango has accused Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) officials of laxity in strengthening the party across the region.
Speaking during a fundraising towards the funeral expenses of two out of three youth who were shot by police in the recent anti-IEBC demonstrations, Ouma lamented that the face of the party had started to wane in the area because the officials are not pro-active.
“The party’s leadership in the region has become as good as nothing because nowadays they never turn up even during the party’s sponsored events such as the recent anti-IEBC demonstrations,” he noted.
The Deputy County boss, who was the ODM party Secretary in the County until the recent party grassroots elections, has, therefore, challenged the party officials right from the sub-branches to wake up and perform their duties to the expected standards or resign.
Ouma has, however, lauded Alego/Usonga ODM Chairman, John Orwenjo Umidha, for demonstrating commitment to party issues urging others to follow suit and champion for party agenda to strengthen the party from the grassroots level.
