Siaya residents disappointed in Trump’s victory

Residents of Siaya County have expressed disappointment following the Republican candidate Donald Trump’s victory in the just concluded United Sates presidential elections.

The residents, who had wanted Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the elections in order to continue President Barrack Obama’s agenda have expressed fears that Donald Trump’s leadership will be discriminatory and dictatorial.

Evans Akumu says that as Kenyans and the people of Siaya County, they expected that Clinton leadership would bring more goodies into the region as opposed to Trump who had clearly indicated discrimination and hatred against Africans.

They also took issue with the opinion poll companies which had consistently favored Hillary Clinton, arguing that it was very unfair for them to continue giving her supporters false hope.

They expressed their disappointment with the opinion poll companies stating that they duped the public that Clinton was fairing on well ahead of her competitor Donald Trump yet that was not the case.

On her part, nominated Member of Siaya County Assembly, Ms Margaret Adhiambo Oketch, lamented that this is a clear indication that most people still don’t believe in the leadership of women.

She says that the U.S. elections has clearly shown that women, youth and persons with disability still have no hopes in the leadership world over and that’s quite unfortunate.

Another resident, Beatrice Atieno, expressed fears that women and immigrants are going to suffer under Donald Trump’s leadership, given the negative attitude that he demonstrated against women during his campaigns.
