Sifuna moves to tame ODM leadership wrangles in Migori

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on Wednesday said that the party only recognizes Philip Makabongo and Joseph Olala as its chairperson and Organising Secretary respectively in Migori County.

This is after Organising Secretary Joseph Nyambori and Festos Mapesa on Monday claimed that they are the bonafide holders of the official positions in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in Migori.

Mr. Sifuna said that the party is not aware of Festos Mapesa and Joseph Nyambori as the party’s Migori chair and organising secretary.

Mapesa and Nyambori are also among other ODM party members who have been recommended for expulsion by the ODM disciplinary Committee in Migori.

The rest include Migori Governor Okoth Obado and Masaba Ward MCA Abedi Maroa.

The Migori County ODM disciplinary committee, chaired by Joseph Muniko last week tabled a report before the county coordinating committee recommending the expulsion of the four under claims that they are not loyal to the party.

The county coordinating committee was led by Philip Makabongo and Joseph Olala as the chairperson and secretary respectively.

Nyatike Sub-county ODM chairperson, Peter Kainda has on the other hand asked the party’s top office to take action against those purporting to be ODM officials in Migori County.
