Sigoti Girls closed after second fire in 4 months
A secondary school in Nyakach, Kisumu County has been closed indefinitely after fire razed down a dormitory in the school on Saturday night.
No one was injured during the fire at Sigoti Girls Complex Secondary School.
Kisumu County Director of Education Sabina Aroni who visited the school on Sunday, said the closure would allow for investigations to ascertain the cause of the fire.
Mr. Aroni said the school board would communicate to the parents when the school is set to be reopened.
Area Chief for Sigoti Location Michael Sati, who responded to the incident last night, confirmed to Citizen Digital that no injuries were reported during the incident.
Chief Sati said the locals intervened and helped put out the fire.
In September last year, the school was closed for two weeks after fire gutted down two dormitories in what authorities at the time termed as an arson attack.
