Sim-U-Nation wins Johnnie Walker Go Kart Championship

Sim-U-Nation are the winners of this year’s Johnnie Walker Go Kart Championship dubbed the Kenya Racing Festival.

The team comprising of four racers scored 284 points to win an all-expense paid trip to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019 at the Yas Marina Circuit ‪on December 1.

Sim-U-Nation recorded the fastest time in all the 7 rounds of competition held on Saturday at Whistling Morans in Athi River.

At second position was team Corsa Volate who attained 216 points followed by team Master Bater with 202 points.

The championship started with qualifiers that were held on September 14, which attracted at least 80 teams with only 20 teams making it to the finals.

“Congratulations to all the finalists who competed and especially to Team Sim-U-Nation for emerging as the champion of the first edition of Kenya Racing Festival. I am elated that 20 teams made it to the national finals giving their best,” said KBL Head of Spirits, Grace Gwaku.

Team Sim-U-Nation comprised of Steve Muriuki, Ed Behr, Sam Karangatha and Wessel Van Djick.

The Kenya Racing Festival is a one-of-a-kind amateur karting tournament aimed at providing amateur racers and racing enthusiasts the chance to experience the pro side of karting.
